When Enrique the penguin’s sore feet were bothering him, keepers at the St. Louis Zoo came up with a solution: shoes made especially for penguin feet!

Enrique is much older than most southern rockhoppers. As a result, he’s experiencing some common problems of old age, like toughened skin on his feet. Zoo staff worked with a company that makes boots for dogs to design Enrique’s shoes. His new cushioned boots help him walk and swim comfortably.
