Using Text-to-Speech

DynaMath offers an audio Text-to-Speech tool to assist students in their reading. When a user activates Text-to-Speech, an automated voice reads the article aloud. Each word is highlighted as it is read, and students can control the speed of the reading.

Every feature article in DynaMath is available at two reading levels, and the Text-to-Speech tool can be used to read either level aloud.

Where to Find Text-to-Speech

Select an article that you want to read. If the article has multiple reading levels, the options will appear in the toolbar on the left. Choose the preferred level, then click the speaker icon from the same toolbar. The text will be highlighted as it’s read aloud.

How to Use Text-to-Speech

The menu at the bottom of the screen has three functions:

1. Play/Pause: You may play or pause the audio as the text is read aloud.

2. Stop: You may stop the audio at any time.

3. Reading Speed (normal/slow): You may toggle between normal and slow reading speeds.

*Note: You can also double-click on any word in the article to start Text-to-Speech from that point.
