Monopoly’s New Tokens
Sometimes the most intense part of a game of Monopoly is the race to grab your favorite playing piece. Whether you love using the race car to zoom past Go or trotting along as the dog, token choice matters to Monopoly players.
But the familiar token lineup is going to look a bit different this year: Hasbro, the company that makes Monopoly, held an online poll to pick some new tokens. More than 4 million people voted, selecting their favorites from a list of 64 options that included the eight current tokens. Voters chose from objects such as clothing, vehicles, and even emojis! Three new tokens are in and three are out (see image).
4,389,652 votes were cast in Hasbro’s “Vote Monopoly” contest.
Which digit of that number is in the hundred thousands place?
